For Playground Patrons: Frequently, playground patrons (parks commissions, school boards, housing authorities, libraries, shopping centers) sense that a playground can be more than a piece of off-the-shelf equipment. I can - guide them to different options, ones that will help generate exciting, intergenerational public spaces. I work with playground patrons to find a suitable architect or landscape architect whose solution is often less expensive than buying a ready-made structure. I also confer and conduct workshops with the patron's local constituencies so that they learn the beneficial impact of progressive playground design. Adults embrace open-ended child directed activities when they are aware of the value of that kind of play and know how to recognize playgrounds that promote it.
